Catch your fave K-pop stars ‘live’ in concert at Sentosa
SINGAPORE — Can’t get enough of K-pop? You can now just pop over to Sentosa to get your concert fix — virtually speaking, that is.

Holotive Global today (Feb 23) launched K-live Sentosa, a holographic theatre experience dedicated to K-pop at Resorts World Sentosa Waterfront. The official launch event also featured a special appearance by boy band GOT7.
So what exactly is it? You can think of it as something akin to watching a high-definition virtual concert. With the help of advanced technology, such as augmented and virtual reality systems and special effects, K-live Sentosa brings holographic versions of pop stars Wonder Girls, 2PM and GOT7 to life. Visitors will get to see them sing, dance and perform, mimicking a real concert experience.
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));
The K-live experience is a certified hit in Seoul, after it was launched in 2014, and more than 200,000 visitors have seen virtual versions of Psy and Big Bang in action.
“Top K-pop acts are not able to make multiple visits to perform in Singapore within a short period of time. Likewise, fans may also not have the resources to travel to overseas performances,” said Sean Park, Director of K-live Sentosa. “Now, fans can immerse themselves in a larger-than-life K-pop experience from their favourite artistes anytime they want.”
The holographic show features a 30-minute concert, where Wonder Girls and 2PM will perform two songs apiece, while GOT7 performs three. These include hits such as 2PM’s Hands Up and Wonder Girls’ I Feel You. There will also be a five-minute traditional Korean drum dance performance and a quick behind-the-scenes video.
In addition, the Singapore version offers a live showcase of either a modern dance performance titled Flying or a hip hop dance called Ego, which both feature Korean dancers.
To keep things fresh, K-live Sentosa will be updating its content every six months with “new virtual songs from the top trending K-pop artistes”. The live performances will also change every three months.
Resorts World Sentosa is confident the show will lure in K-pop fans and ordinary tourists alike. “With the popularity of the Korean Wave, or Hallyu, in Singapore, hosting the region’s first dedicated K-pop holograhic theatre makes for a perfect fit as we continue to refresh and expand our diverse offerings,” said Serena Phua, Vice President, Estate Management, RWS.
K-live Sentosa’s hologram concert will run nine times a day. Tickets are priced at S$39 for adults for the hologram concert and at S$48 for the full package that includes the ‘live’ performance. Discounted prices are also available for children, seniors and students.
