Five things you can do to prepare for Rainie Yang’s concert
SINGAPORE – How do we love actress/singer Rainie Yang? We love that we’ve watched her grow as an actress, from starring in that 2001 drama Meteor Garden to the hilarious Hi My Sweetheart with Show Luo and her latest television series Love At Second Sight with Chinese actor Zheng Kai. We love that she can still hit the notes on her songs such as Ai Mei (Ambiguous Love) at karaoke sessions. But most of all, we love that the 30-year-old will be coming to Singapore to promote her new album, A Tale of Two Rainie, next weekend. So what can fans do to prepare for that Rainie day? But most of all, we love that the 30-year-old will be coming to Singapore to promote her new album, A Tale of Two Rainie, next weekend. So what can fans do to prepare for that Rainie day? Here are some ideas:
GET A RAINIE HAIRCUT
You can leave your hair long, like what the star did at the start of her career; or get her smart, sexy pixie cut if you’re confident you won’t end up looking like a char siew bun with hair. But if you were a true fan, there is no doubt which hairstyle you’d pick — the infamous jellyfish cut of 2007.
LEARN HOW TO ACT CUTE
No one can be cuter than Rainie Yang when she says the word “cute”. Learn from the best by watching her YouTube videos on repeat.
BOOK A KARAOKE ROOM
Don’t you love how some songs never get old? Spend an evening singing Yang’s ballads, including Ideal Lover, Allergy and Ripples.
BINGE-WATCH HER OLD DRAMAS
You’ll need more than a week to finish all of Yang’s best television series, but our favourites include Devil Beside You, Hi My Sweetheart and Drunken To Love You. Remember to order room service so you’ll never have to hit the pause button.
PUT AI MEI ON YOUR FRIENDS’ PHONES
Can you believe it has been 10 years since Yang released her hit song Ai Mei? Remind your friends just how much they’ve missed that tune by setting it as their ringtone. (If they’re not fans, tell them you’re trying to expand their musical horizons.)
Hon Jingyi
Rainie Yang will hold a mini-concert at 6pm on March 21 at Shanghai Dolly. She will also hold an autograph session at 3pm on March 22 at Compass Point.
