Singapore — Three years after their first visit to Singapore, popular K-Pop group Infinite returned with a full-fledged concert that had their fans — or Inspirits — screaming for more.

One Great Step, the group’s first world tour, played at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday, and treated fans to three hours of popular hits like Nothing’s Over and Destiny, as well as plenty of fan engagement — sometimes literally.

“I promise you that since you’ve been waiting for this for a really, really long time, I will make tonight unforgettable,” said rapper Dong Woo, who was the crowd-pleaser of the night, flirting with the Inspirits in full swagger mode. He wasn’t joking. Kisses were blown, winks were thrown, a teddy bear was serenaded to. There was even a “proposal”, when Woo Hyun — the “king of fan-service” — got down on his knees and presented a ring to one lucky girl. Squealling ensued. No word if an equally fake pre-nup was signed.

What was truly impressive and far more genuine was how sincere and grateful the group came across, thanking their fans for making their first world tour a success. Unlike some megabands of their status, the boys didn’t forget to show their love and appreciation to the fans, giving full 90-degree bows at all four corners of the stage.

In the end, after an encore of Infinite’s very first hit Come Back Again, everyone in the audience was infinitely sold. KIMBERLY FONG
