SINGAPORE — The sixth edition of the Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix ended with a closing concert at The Padang on Monday, a grand finale to the exciting race that had the world talking. The separately ticketed event was set to entertain the crowd with acts such as Owl City, led by Adam Young, Zouk’s DJ Ghetto, and the headliner, none other than Justin Bieber.

American electronica singer-songwriter Adam Young kick-started the party, entertaining fans with Owl City’s popular hits, Fireflies and Good Time, which set the mood. Although Young didn’t move around the stage much, he still managed to work the crowd with some flawless singing.

Singapore’s award-winning DJ Ghetto then fired up the crowd with his mixes before it was the Canadian pop star’s turn.

That Bieber stole the show was a given — he could have just stood there, striking a pose, and all would’ve been well.

The noise generated by Owl City fans paled in comparison to the enthusiastic Beliebers, some of whom reportedly started queuing up at The Padang the night before. Bieber treated them to almost 100 minutes’ worth of hits, from All Around The World to Baby, he worked the crowd with his dance moves in a tightly fitted tank, a sight that had Beliebers shrieking in excitement from start to finish — all 12,000 of them.

When Bieber wasn’t busy pulling up his loosely fitted pants or crotch-grabbing on stage, the multi-talented singer showed off his guitar and drum skills as he serenaded fans with crowd-pleasers like Fall and Be Alright. And before they knew it, Bieber chose one lucky fan to join him onstage, making her that One Less Lonely Girl of the night.

Yes, he went off-key a couple of times, but all was forgotten when he showed off his surprisingly ripped body, wrapping up the concert with his hit single, Baby.

So was it a good show? You’d better Bielieb it.
