SINGAPORE – It’s still a little early for the Grammy Awards, which happens on Feb 8, but we thought we’d get a headstart. There are loads of awards to hand out, of course; however, in an ideal world – to a lazy music fan like me, at least – the guys who organise the Grammys would do away with all of its nominations, go straight to announcing their list of Awesome Music And Acts This Year, get everyone partying and just call it a night.

After all, even though I agree it’s important to acknowledge the efforts and achievements of lesser known music groups and artistes, I seriously doubt anyone really pays attention to all 83 categories(!!) of the awards show. What does Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album even mean? What is the difference between a Best Surround Sound Album and a regular album? And will be the winner of Best American Roots Album be some sort of vegetable?

In the interest of time, I’ve come up with my own list of winners ahead of the actual Grammys. The best part? No explanations necessary.
