SINGAPORE – Fans of xinyao songwriter Liang Wern Fook have clearly been waiting for too long.
All 5,000 tickets to his concert next year – his first in an impressive 35-year career – sold out in six hours, after they went on sale today (Dec 8).
Concert organiser Ocean Butterflies has no plans to hold a second show, but “will seriously consider adding one, if the public enthusiastically requests for it”, the organiser said.
The prolific songwriter, who has written songs for stars such as Kit Chan, Stefanie Sun and Jacky Cheung, among others, said at a press conference last week that he now faces the “happy problem” of choosing songs from among the 200 tracks he has written over the course of his career for his concert.
The 50-year-old also revealed that he will be inviting many singers to perform with him at the concert, which will be held on April 11 at The Star Theatre, but declined to name any names.
“I want to give my audience a surprise,” he said.
