SINGAPORE — The MediaCorp Radio Awards 2013 returns this year to honour Singapore’s most recognisable voices in the local radio industry.

Apart from the familiar categories, such as Best Radio Show or Most Stylish Radio Personality, two new categories — Breakthrough Radio Personality and Best Radio Promotions — have been introduced.

“The introduction of the Breakthrough Radio Personality award is to give recognition to radio personalities who have been pushing themselves with added responsibilities, excelling in different roles within broadcasting and gaining both popularity and maturity while putting radio at the forefront of what they do,” said Ms Dahlia Z, chairperson of the organising committee.

“Best Radio Promotions honours the teams that work hard conceptualising, marketing and running some of our successful and even iconic events,” she added.

Organised by MediaCorp’s radio division, 72 radio personalities will be vying for Most Popular Radio Personality, with 40 per cent of the results being determined by listeners via SMS (www.meradio.sg/radioawards) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/radioawards) voting. You can cast your votes until Oct 20. Results of voting will be independently verified by an audit firm. CHRISTOPHER TOH

The MediaCorp Radio Awards ceremony will be held on Nov 15, 7.30pm at MediaCorp TV Theatre.
