Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong was on a walkabout with the People's Action Party (PAP) candidates for Aljunied GRC when he bumped into the Workers' Party candidate for the same constituency, Mr Chen Show Mao, at Hougang Central.

When asked about why he is making a second trip with the Aljunied team, Mr Goh said that it was primarily to show moral support. Mr Goh also said that his sense on the Aljunied ground is that many are caught in a dilemma, saying that they want to support the PAP but are afraid that the WP may be out.

Former PAP chairman Lim Boon Heng had joined the PAP Aljunied team's walkabout.

Dr Vivian Balakrishnan was on a walkabout at Chestnut Drive.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines, PAP candidate for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC Dr Balakrishnan elaborated on the party's vision.

After a short break, PAP's Tin Pei Ling, who had been out and about the MacPherson SMC area since about 8.50am, continued her walkabout with block visits at Blk 123 Geylang East Central.

The People's Action Party (PAP) has hit back at The Workers' Party's (WP) claims that the accounts of Punggol East Single Member Constituency were in deficit when the WP took over the SMC after a by-election in 2013. In an interview, the PAP's Dr Ng Eng Hen said that senior party leaders will be putting on record the facts about the accounts and that Mr Low Thia Khiang may have to issue a correction.

Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean showed the accounts to the media, and said that the Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council had handed S$22.5 million in cash to Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council after the Workers’ Party won the 2013 Punggol East by-election.
