The annual price comparison study compares the cost of a holiday across 20 key tourist cities by calculating how much two people will spend for a typical holiday (excluding flights). The measurable include a four-star hotel for three nights, a visit to three attractions, lunch each day, a taxi to and from dinner each day, plus the cost of dinner itself.
Hanoi has been found to be the cheapest and you only need to spend S$674 for your holiday while New York is the most expensive at almost S$2,478.
What’s even more interesting is that Singapore is the sixth most expensive destination. A three-day break here costs S$1,611.77. It is more expensive than nearby cities such as Hong Kong at number 7 with an average cost of S$1,539.91 and Sydney at S$1,522.70.
