DUMPLING FESTIVAL ARRIVES EARLY AT HUA TING. And Chef Lap Fai’s has a new creation: Rice dumpling with stewed pig trotter paired with mui choy (S$12.80). For the health-conscious, the gluten-free, fibre-rich and low-fat Five Grains Dumpling with wild mushrooms (S$8.80) makes a comeback, alongside favourites such as rice dumpling with roasted meat, Hong Kong style (S$17.80). A DESERVED LONG LUNCH AT THE EDGE. Put your knowledge of local food to the test at this new extended four-hour lunch invitation, bolstered by 30 additional dishes. These include well-known hawker favourites that make up a variety of local faves, including homemade laksa, bak kut teh, nasi lemak, fried carrot cake and satay, even a kaya toast live station, alongside its usual line-up. The dessert selection also boasts a nod to local flavours, including ice kachang, mango pomelo short cake and a selection of fragrant durian-based desserts. WEEKLY SET LUNCH & DINNER AT POOL GRILL. Dine in style at this intimate al-fresco restaurant by the pool featuring mains such as seabass with smoked eggplant and yoghurt or chicken breast with creamed polenta and asparagus ($30.50 for lunch and $45 for dinner). MOTHER’S DAY BUFFET AT SPICES CAFE. Show your appreciation to Mum by treating her to a delectable Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea Buffet or Mother’s Day Seafood Buffet Dinner. The tea buffet includes prawn and mango salad, carrot and pumpkin soup with crab claw meat, braised pork belly with yam and Chinese mushrooms. For the buffet dinner, every mother receives a complimentary serving of double boiled bird nest with lotus seed, and every diner enjoys one complimentary serving of braised half lobster (200g) with baby abalone, fish maw and mushroom. SPRING ARRIVES AT BRASSERIE LES SAVEURS. The season’s freshest produce take centre stage in an epicurean journey handcrafted by Chef De Cuisine Fabrice Passicos. Delight in a timely a la carte selection that boasts buttered European white asparagus served with poached sweet prawns, hollandaise sauce, snow peas and dill oil and grilled spring lamb cutlets can be enjoyed with sauteed potatoes, sweet rhubarb compote and spring vegetables. LUNCH BENTO SETS AT MIKUNI. Presented in a tiered clay bento set, the premium Miyabi bento (S$120 per person for eight dishes) features a chilled Kyoto onion soup and the restaurant’s signature serving of BBQ eel on rice. For good value, the eight-course Business Bento Set (S$68) includes Chicken Karaage Tempura, soy-braised Hokkaido Kinki fish and its popular grilled miso eggplant. DURIAN FIESTA AT GOODWOOD PARK. The hotel’s enduring Durian Fiesta is back and in full swing. New creations include Durian Gula Melaka Roll (S$10 per slice; S$62 per 1kg roll), an Asian take on the Swiss roll; the Durian Malay Cake (S$8 per slice; S$42 for a 700g cake); and mini durian donuts (S$9 for 2 pieces). NEW MENU AT JAMIE’S ITALIAN SINGAPORE. The latest round of changes to the menu features typical Jamie twists on familiar favourites and true Italian classics done well. New starters include Italian Spiced Chicken Wings with smoked arrabbiata sauce, as well as Cauliflower And Parmesan Fritters, accompanied by a fiery tomato sauce and a scattering of crispy sage. Highlights featuring its freshly made pasta include the Pumpkin Tortellini, stuffed with sweet roasted squash, lemony ricotta and aged Parmesan. Alternatively, there is the Truffle Tagliatelle — an aromatic, silky bowl that combines freshly foraged black truffles, butter, Parmesan and nutmeg. NEW KYUSHU SEASONAL MENU AT WATAMI. Mouth-watering dishes from different parts of Kyushu have gathered in WATAMI and are sure to tickle your tastebuds. Savour Japan’s greatest specialities including unique dishes from Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Oita and Kagoshima. STRAITS CUISINE AT REVAMPED ORCHARD CAFE: This buffet’s new focus places Asian cuisine in the spotlight. Executive Chef Paul will be serving up an array of Asian roasts, from roast pork belly and duck to char siew; his signature dishes, such as Nyonya Hokkien mee, fish curry, steamed black cod otah, sambal stingray, along with oyster omelette. Even the kitchen’s celebrated kueh pie tee gets a boost with a topping of buah keluak. Regulars can look forward to other traditional favourites that include Ah Huat Braised Fatty Pork (with steamed buns), freshly prepared Nyonya laksa and slow-cooked beef cheek rendang with Nyonya spices. DIM SUM LUNCH AT HAI TIEN LO. New Dim Sum Chef Lee Siaw Cheen is now serving up 20 varieties of dim sum at the Pan Pacific Singapore’s new weekday a la carte dim sum lunch buffet (S$48 per adult) at its renowned Cantonese restaurant. Diners will also appreciate the extensive selection of 35 soups, signature dishes, dim sum and desserts that make up the buffet. Four new creations share the spotlight, such as deep-fried yam puff with foie gras, and steamed Berkshire pork char siu buns (limited to one per guest). TIONG BAHRU BAR. Launched last year, award-winning Chef Daniel Sia of The Disgruntled Chef collaborated with Tiong Bahru Bar, coming up with a new Local Remakes Edition Menu, offering small portions of local favorites such as kong bak pau (S$3), chilli crab with fried mantou (S$14), shrimp paste chicken tulips (S$12) and laksa prawn toast (S$10). GATTOPARDO REVAMP. Italian-Mediterranean restaurant Gattopardo has reopened with a new menu. The seasonal winter menu brings dishes such as Busiate, a spiral-shaped pasta dish with toasted Trapani almond pesto and tomato confit; Tasmanian Petuna Ocean Trout, served with persimmon and leek; and signature dishes from the old menu.
