5 things to check out at Craft Singapore
1. NOT YOUR CHANG BEER AT STONE HEAD BEER
1. NOT YOUR CHANG BEER AT STONE HEAD BEER
Even the biggest craft beer fanatics might not have tasted the beers from Stone Head Thai Craft Beer as the Thai brewery is only making its debut at Craft Singapore. Sip on the Stone Head X Soi Beer Salak IPA, which is infused with the tropical fruit. Stone Head Thai Craft Beer also has a brew called Lamzing made with local sweet rice.
2. MASTERCLASSES BY LITTLE CREATURES AND LITTLE SQUIRE
For those looking to level up their knowledge about craft beers, attend the masterclasses by Australian brewers Little Creatures and James Squire held Saturday and Sunday. They’ll share the finer points of how to appreciate beer.
3. MUSIC MIGHT AT THE STAGE
Where there is booze, there needs to be music. Craft Singapore has lined up several acts to add to the lively atmosphere, such as local duo Yumetori (Saturday and Sunday) performing chill tunes; 10.Seconds (Saturday), who will be rocking the house with Top 40 covers; and Gan Ainm (Sunday), a six-piece Irish folk-rock band that plays lively Irish traditional and contemporary folk music. Also on hand are DJs Suren (Saturday) and Barber Shane O’Neil and Paul McKracken (Sunday) who will be spinning tunes on the decks.
4. COCKTAILS AT THE SECRET MERMAID
It’s not all about beers at Craft Singapore: Cocktail bar The Secret Mermaid will be having a booth at the event. It’s shaking up some special concoctions such as Kiwi Shrub Gin & Toni, Red Wine Whiskey and Raspberry Moonshine Milo, featuring American craft spirits such as Half Moon Orchard Gin and See 7 Stars Moonshine. If you like to earn some craft beer cred, try the drink known as Duchess Beer Reduction Old Fashioned. Non-alcoholic options are available here too for teetotalers or designated drivers.
5. LUCKY BUNS AT FULL OF LUCK CLUB
Grub up with the newest Chinese restaurant in town even before it officially opens its doors: The new eatery Full Of Luck Club will only be launching in April at Holland Village, but here, you can get a preview of things to come with its Bao Bar at Craft Singapore. On offer are six buns, such as the Salted Egg Yolk Prawn Bao and Smoked Duck Bao. (Think of them as Singapore’s version of Hong Kong’s Little Bao.)
Craft Singapore will be held at Bayfront Avenue Event Space until Sunday, noon to 5pm and 6pm to 11pm. Tickets start from S$45 (for entry only) and are available at SISTIC. For more info, visit http://www.craftsingapore.com.
