SINGAPORE — In a bid, it would seem, to whet the market’s late night appetite, popular restaurant chain Tim Ho Wan has launched its first 24-hour restaurant and fifth Singapore outpost at the Aperia Mall on Lavender Street. Besides the regular menu, breakfast and supper menus of authentic Hong Kong-style dim sum have also been introduced.

Breakfast is served from 6am to 10am and on top of its most popular mainstays such as the baked buns with barbecue pork, pan fried carrot cake, and congee with lean pork and both century egg and salted egg, the new outlet will also debut its fried glutinous rice, made with dried shrimps and mushrooms.

And while favourites such as the Hong Kong Style Boat Congee and the sliced fish congee with garlic fried fish skin and century egg remain, the highlight of the new supper menu (available from 10pm to 6am) have to be the Abalone congee with chicken and mushroom, and the lobster congee with prawn and scallop. But there are also handmade-noodle dishes to savour, whether you prefer it with beef brisket and tendon or with pork and vegetable wontons. Light snacks that should appeal to the local palate include dumplings with spicy sauce and the garlic fried fish skin. Supper menu prices range from S$3.50 to S$18.80 consisting of the congee and noodle dishes and light snacks. The new outlet is located at 12 Kallang Avenue #01-01/02/03. Call 6684 2000 for enquiries.
