Checklist: Honeymoon picks for Kimye
SINGAPORE — The beautiful Renaissance city of Florence found itself under siege last Saturday, no thanks to the couple known as Kimye — that’s Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, for the five of you still in the dark — who held their wedding in the Forte di Belvedere. Now residents of Ireland have to contend with the celeb couple, who descended on Cork for their honeymoon. Tourism Ireland is reportedly milking this though — its marketing director even said: “We’re working hard to produce a guide for fans.”

Memes and spoofs of the couple glamming it up on the Emerald Isle are also all over the Web. We play tour guide with some ideas for their nuptial getaway.
The Sheep’s Head Way (Cork):
Down in West Cork is this remote region that is the least visited of Cork’s three peninsulas. It also lays claim to “some of Ireland’s most beautiful scenery”. It’s ideal for Kim, who can admire something natural — instead of herself.
The James Joyce Tower ( Dublin): Since Kanye fancies himself an artistic genius par none, he should visit the spiritual home of one of the most important writers of our time. It not only houses the Irish writer’s possessions and letters, but it’s also featured in the first chapter of his masterpiece Ulysses. What better inspiration for Kanye, huh?
Ross Castle (Kerry): Kimye are reality TV royalty and they know it. They are rumoured to be holed up in Castle Oliver but we think Ross Castle, built on Ross Island along the shores of Lough Leane, makes for a better hideout, as it has been a “defensive stronghold throughout the centuries”. Bet it can withstand the onslaught of paparazzi, too. Serene Lim
