A quick guide to soaking up the Oktoberfest-ivities
ERDINGER OKTOBERFEST
ERDINGER OKTOBERFEST
A brand synonymous with Oktoberfest in Singapore, Erdinger is marking this year’s festivities with a first-of-its-kind experience that combines shopping, food and world-class brews in an immersive and multi-facetted event stretching across three malls — Suntec City (until Oct 2), Clarke Quay Central (Oct 3 to 11) and The Star Vista (Oct 19 to 28). Booths offering food and drinks will be set up at each location, featuring limited-edition brews and tasting menus by participating restaurants. Over at Suntec City, for example, PasarBella is presenting a sneak preview of an exciting new TexMex concept it will be launching soon. Visitors can look forward to sampling signature tacos filled with succulent cajun chicken, smokey flame grilled ribeye steak or meltingly tender pulled pork — to name a few. There will also be a lively party with music by an authentic German brass band, and the Erdinger BARcycle, a mobile roaming bar counter that will serve tasting portions of four Erdinger beers. OKTOBERFEAsTS AT BREZ’N
Here at Singapore’s latest Bavarian restaurant, guests can look forward to an aptly hearty feast. It also includes the Oktoberfest Platter, a meat fiesta made up of the restaurant’s signature crispy pork knuckle, two slices of meatloaf, pork loin ribs and two Thuringer sausage snails, served with sauerkraut and potato salad. The Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier, which is traditionally slightly stronger than the normal lager, is also on tap, starting at S$14.50 for a 500ml mug. Or get your own 5-litre wooden barrel of Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier for S$130. Available until Oct 31. Call 6235 1613 for details.

OKTOBERFEST AT RESORTS WORLD SENTOSA
Held in partnership with Asia Pacific Breweries at Resorts World Sentosa’s Festive Walk (Level 1), the highlight of this one-night ticketed event on Oct 1 (7pm to 2am) has to be the four Oktoberfest-inspired bratwursts specially prepared by its celebrated restaurants. These are the five-spice pork sausage by Forest, a Byron Bay Berkshire pork-garlic sausage by Osia Steak and Seafood Grill, a duck and foie gras sausage by Curate, and Salsiccia Italian Sausage by Fratelli — Trattoria and Pizzeria. But get there early; admission includes a tasting platter of the four sausages on a first-come, first-served basis. This is on top of an all-you-can-eat buffet menu of traditional German fare such as a medley of sauerkraut and pickled purple cabbage, roasted pork knuckle, dark beer marinated chicken, as well as baked potato with herb and mustard cream. Ticket-holders will also enjoy a glass of Erdinger beer, where choices include the limited-edition Erdinger Oktoberfest seasonal beer. Revellers will also be entertained by Ois Easy, one of the most sought-after party bands for beer festivals. Tickets are priced at S$78 each.
