SINGAPORE — Travellers can now take the hassle out of comparing various different travel insurance policies with a new intiative called GoBear, which was launched on Wednesday. Think of it as a Skyscanner of sorts — the new website bills itself as “the first and only comprehensive meta search engine for insurance” and currently allows users in Singapore to compare travel and car insurance policies side-by-side to find one that is best suited to their needs.

Companies such as AIG, Great Eastern, NTUC Income, AXA, QBE, Tenet and Tokio Marine are among the providers on GoBear. This free web-based service also includes coverage scores based on analytics to further aid users.

“GoBear’s goal is to make complex insurance products easy to understand and accessible to all Singapore,” said its chief executive offiver, Andre Hesselink, who added that Singaporeans love to compare prices and products to find one with the “best value” before buying.

Hesselink revealed that the company is already in the midst of adding other forms of insurance such as home and health, and will also be including information on insurance promotions.
