Checklist: Our EZ-Link card travel wishlist
SINGAPORE — Your EZ-Link card could soon take you places … in Taiwan. Earlier this week, it was reported that EZ-Link signed a memorandum with Taiwan’s EasyCard Corp to issue a Cross Border Combi Card that will allow you to use it for public transport in both cities and even for retail purposes. Sounds pretty amazing although, and we’re being greedy here, we think it’ll be even better if the Combi card extends to even more countries and fulfils the following.
1. Tax-free shopping
Tax refunds can be a hassle when shopping overseas. How awesome would it be if the Combi Card notes these transactions and credits the amount of tax back to the card? Better yet, let the Combi card grant an automatic deduction whenever we make a purchase.
2. Accumulate points
Much like how frequent flier miles work, the Combi Card would chalk up points every time you use it, for extra perks.
3. Taxi transfers
With the Combi Card, taxis are at our disposal when we arrive at the airport and when departing from the hotel. Now that’s what we call seamless commuting across borders. Serene Lim
