SINGAPORE — It’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow, but what can cynics and the lovelorn do? Well, escape to Paris.

It’s true — the city of amour is also the antidote to nurse your broken heart. Before you accuse us of being schmaltzy, don’t worry. We have an itinerary which celebrates your resolve to stay single and be less in love with the idea of love.

HAVE DINNER WITH JIM HAYNES AND 59 OTHER PEOPLE

This is like Eatwith, but better, because it preceded the going local trend by more than 30 years. American-born Jim Haynes throws open the doors to his sculpture studio in the 14th Arrondissement every Sunday and welcomes strangers from all over the world as they mingle over dinner. It’s a wonderful way to meet new people and talk to this 79-year-old who has travelled the world, authored books, founded an experimental theatre group and appeared in films. You can reserve a spot via his website http://www.jim-haynes.com. Donations are accepted for dinner and a good time.
