SINGAPORE — Residents at Block 556 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 have to undergo another round of mandatory testing, as new cases of Covid-19 infection have been discovered there since the first testing operation at the block on Aug 1.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Saturday (Aug 7) that mandatory testing will be conducted on Sunday between 9am and 12pm, and between 1pm and 4pm, at the Regional Screening Centre at 8 Ang Mo Kio Street 54, the site of the former Da Qiao Primary School.
The test will be optional for those who have tested negative for Covid-19 infection from Aug 5 onwards.
In a statement, MOH said this second round of testing is being carried out to detect cases who were still incubating the virus in the first round of testing and to prevent spread in the community.
Leaflets have been distributed and SMS notifications have been sent to the residents to provide them with more information, MOH said.
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article stated that 10 new Covid-19 cases were found at the block after the first testing operation. This is incorrect. MOH did not specify the number of new cases found. We are sorry for the error.
