SINGAPORE – About 880,000 Singaporean Housing and Development Board (HDB) households will receive the next instalment of the GST Voucher – Utilities-Save (U-Save) rebate this month, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement on Tuesday (Jan 2).
Eligible households will each receive a voucher of up to S$95, depending on the type of their HDB flat, said the ministry.
The U-Save rebate is one of three components of the permanent GST Voucher scheme and is distributed every three months. It aims to help HDB households offset part of their utility bills and lower overall household expenses, the ministry added.
The U-Save rebate is expected to cost the government S$265 million over four quarters, starting from July 2017.
