Dengue cases hit new weekly high

SINGAPORE — The number of dengue cases hit a new weekly high of 853 cases last week, bringing the total number of cases up to 10,960.

SINGAPORE — The number of dengue cases hit a new weekly high of 853 cases last week, bringing the total number of cases up to 10,960.

This comes after the number of cases fell to 810 — from an 11-week climb — the previous week.

So far, two people have died from dengue this year in Singapore.

Two weeks ago, Environment and Water Resources Minister Vivian Balakrishnan announced that as part of the Government’s plan to keep dengue in check, it would be deploying more manpower to conduct checks and hand out free insect repellent to households.
