SINGAPORE — A 42-year-old man was taken to Raffles Hospital on Wednesday (July 7) morning after an accident along the East Coast Parkway (ECP) that ended with the man’s mangled car nestled among potted plants.
In response to TODAY’s queries, the police said that they were alerted at 7.09am to the accident, which took place along the ECP towards Changi.
The police added that the male driver was conscious when he was taken to the hospital. Investigations are ongoing.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it had taken the person to Raffles Hospital.
In photos posted on social media, the car was visibly damaged after it crashed into the potted plants that line the expressway’s divider.
Car enthusiasts on the Roads.Sg Facebook page identified the car as a McLaren 720S model. McLaren Singapore's website describes it as a "supercar" with a 4L engine that can go from zero to 100km/h in 2.9 seconds.
A brand-new model could set a buyer back at least S$1 million, SgCarMart.com's website stated.
