SINGAPORE — A second motorist allegedly involved in a fatal accident along Cantonment Road last Sunday, which resulted in the death of a 69-year-old woman, has been arrested.
A 25-year-old man was previously arrested for dangerous driving causing death, the police said.
In response to TODAY’s queries on Sunday (Jan 12), the Singapore Police Force said that they arrested a 44-year-old woman on Friday.
“(She) had fled the scene before the police arrived… and was arrested on Jan 10 for failing to render assistance,” the police said.
Photos of the fatal accident have made the rounds on social media and show a red Maserati car with a police tent nearby.
Video footage of the accident also emerged, showing two red cars stopping near a mangled power-assisted bicycle. A green Honda is later seen running over a pedestrian — believed to be the 69-year-old woman — and leaving the scene.
Last Monday, a car that is believed to be involved in the case was towed away by the police from a car park on Jalan Sultan.
Police investigations are ongoing.
