SINGAPORE – The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has issued a recall of two Waitrose brand pesto products on Tuesday (Dec 24) due to undeclared peanut allergen on their product labels.
A recall notification was first issued by the European Commission Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (EU RASFF) on the Waitrose Basil Pesto Green (190g) and Waitrose Pesto Tomato (190g) products.
“As the implicated products were imported into Singapore, the Singapore Food Agency has directed the importer to recall the product. The recall is ongoing,” the SFA said in a statement.
“Consumers who have purchased the affected products, and who are allergic to peanut, should not consume them,” the SFA added.
The agency did not say when the EU RASFF first issued the recall notice.
Consumers may contact the importer, Cold Storage Singapore, at 1800 8918 100 for enquiries and for exchange of products.
