WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE PARTY

  • Mr Goh Meng Seng, a former member of the Workers’ Party (WP) and National Solidarity Party (NSP), formed the People's Power Party (PPP) in 2015, just before the General Election (GE) was held in September that year

  • Mr Goh has described PPP as “small and close-knit”, consisting of members who were with him in WP and NSP

  • The party said on June 22 that it has an informal alliance with the Reform Party, Democratic Progressive Party and Singaporeans First party to help one another with human resources and logistics. However, Singaporeans First was dissolved three days later

  • The party’s GE2020 campaign slogan is “A Strong Parliament”

  • Mr Goh, a veteran of several GEs but has yet to taste victory, intends to stand in MacPherson Single Member Constituency (SMC) in the coming polls
