SINGAPORE — Those looking for their dream home can now make use of a new one-stop portal by the Housing and Development Board (HDB), which aims to make it easier to obtain information about the purchase or sale of a flat.

The HDB Flat Portal will be rolled out progressively from Wednesday (Jan 13), Minister for National Development Desmond Lee said in a Facebook post.

“This new portal will make it more convenient for home buyers and sellers to gather information on the purchase or sale of a flat through a single integrated platform,” said Mr Lee.

It features customised financial calculators for buyers to gauge their budgets and sellers to check their sales proceeds.

It also includes a loan-listing service, which provides information on housing loans offered by HDB and other financial institutions.

The portal also contains a flat-listing service, which lists upcoming and currently available Build-to-Order (BTO) flats. HDB plans to include resale flat listings in future phases, said Mr Lee.

The new portal is the second phase of the HDB Resale Portal launched in January 2018, and was created “after a series of engagement sessions with industry players and stakeholders”, he added.

“The HDB Resale Portal has halved the time needed for resale flat transactions from 16 weeks to around eight weeks, and reduced the number of appointments with HDB from two to one,” said Mr Lee.

“We will continue to look into ways to further improve the transaction process for HDB home buyers and sellers.”
