SINGAPORE — The Housing and Development Board’s (HDB) Bukit Merah branch is temporarily closed after a second employee tested positive for Covid-19.
In a Facebook post on Thursday (April 2), HDB said its Bukit Merah branch would be closed until further notice. It will contact customers to reschedule their appointments there.
This comes less than a week after HDB confirmed on March 27 that a staff member at the same branch had contracted the virus.
The first employee worked in an administrative role and did not serve customers at counters, HDB said. It did not state the role of the second employee.
The Bukit Merah branch was shut for cleaning and disinfection from March 27 to March 30.
"The health and safety of our customers and staff remain our top priority, and we are working closely with the Ministry of Health on contact-tracing," HDB added.
Singapore had 1,000 Covid-19 cases as of Wednesday and reported its fourth death from the virus on Thursday morning.
