SINGAPORE — A teenager was charged in court on Monday (Aug 5) for robbing a 7-Eleven store in Sengkang with a fruit knife.

SINGAPORE — A teenager was charged in court on Monday (Aug 5) for robbing a 7-Eleven store in Sengkang with a fruit knife.
The incident took place at Block 403A Fernvale Lane at around 1.10am on Sunday.
According to the charge sheet, Jacob Seow, 18, was armed with a fruit knife when he allegedly robbed the shop’s 21-year-old Malaysian cashier of six packets of cigarettes and one burger.
In a statement, the police said they received a report at around 1.30am on Sunday. Officers from Ang Mo Kio police division were able to identify and arrest Seow within four hours of the report.
If convicted of armed robbery by night, Seow could face between three and 14 years’ jail and be given at least 12 strokes of the cane.
