SINGAPORE — The authorities are investigating whether a Malaysian delivery man who visited the casino at Resorts World Sentosa has breached Singapore's Covid-19 rules.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Sunday (Feb 21) that the Malaysian truck driver, a freelance deliveryman, took an antigen rapid test at Woodlands Checkpoint on Feb 8, when he tested negative for Covid-19.

MOH said its investigations found that the man visited Resorts World Sentosa's casino on Feb 9 before departing for Malaysia on the same day.

Coincidentally, the ministry added the casino to a list of public places that had been visited by Covid-19 cases during their infectious period.

The visit was on Feb 9, between 5.40am and 10.30am.

"Malaysian truck drivers are not allowed to mingle in the community other than for delivery purposes and are not to stay overnight," the ministry said.

"Investigations are ongoing to assess if there had been any breach of the relevant prevailing measures."

On Feb 18, the man took an antigen rapid test at Woodlands Checkpoint. He tested positive for Covid-19 was denied entry into Singapore.

His polymerase chain reaction test, too, came back positive on Feb 19.

MOH said it would take "all the necessary public health actions" as a precautionary measure, including placing all identified close contacts on quarantine.

The ministry on Sunday reported 11 new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore, all of which were imported.
