More than 60 companies contribute to care packages for healthcare workers on the front lines

SINGAPORE — More than 60 companies came together to assemble care packages for healthcare workers on the front lines of the Covid-19 outbreak over the weekend.

SINGAPORE — More than 60 companies came together to assemble care packages for healthcare workers on the front lines of the Covid-19 outbreak over the weekend.

The care packages contain items such as anti-bacterial hand washes, face masks, vitamins and health supplements. The companies involved in the effort include BMW, City Developments Limited, Giant, Harvey Norman and Lazada Singapore.

Five thousand care packages will be delivered to 12 hospitals and polyclinics over the span of two weeks.

Veteran actresses Zoe Tay and Xiang Yun, along with other Mediacorp celebrities, also created collages made up of well-wishes and greetings from fellow celebrities.

Artistes Tay, Xiang Yun, Desmond Tan and Elvin Ng visited Tan Tock Seng Hospital, KK Women's and Children's Hospital and Changi General Hospital on Saturday (Feb 29), while Paige Chua, Priscelia Chan, Jernelle Oh, Zhang Ze Tong and Gini Chang visited Singapore General Hospital, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and Raffles Hospital on Sunday.

“I volunteered for this mission because it's the least I can do for the heroes of our nation," said actress Chua.

"During such difficult times, Singaporeans should support each other even more," added Ms Michelle Yip, chief marketing officer of Lazada Singapore, one of the companies that contributed to the initiative.
