SINGAPORE — Department store Robinsons will be closing its outlet at Jem mall in Jurong East at the end of August, it announced in a statement on Wednesday (May 6).
It said that its exit was an “amicable” one following discussions with its landlord, Lendlease.
“Discussions have been ongoing since November 2019 and the timing of the exit has been scheduled on a mutually agreed basis,” the retailer said.
Robinson’s four-storey outlet at Jem has been in operation since 2013.
There are two other outlets at Raffles City Shopping Centre, which opened in 2001, and The Heeren, which opened in 2013.
Its flagship outlet was previously located at The Centrepoint until 2014.
Robinsons said that its management is “committed to ensuring viable and successful operations in Singapore” and will be refining its online capabilities including a revamp of its e-commerce platform.
Last month, it launched its digital store on e-commerce marketplace LazMall.
