SINGAPORE — Expect thundery showers and warm, humid conditions over the next fortnight, says the weatherman.

In an update on Thursday (May 16), the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) said short, thundery showers are expected between the late morning and early afternoon on six to eight days over the next two weeks.

And on two to three days next week, Sumatra squalls may bring widespread thundery showers and gusty winds between pre-dawn and the morning, added MSS.

Rainfall in May is likely to be above-normal for many parts of Singapore, said MSS.

The warm and humid conditions experienced during the first half of the month are expected to continue for the rest of May, with the daily temperature on most days expected to be between 26°C and 34°C.

On days with little or no rainfall, the daily maximum temperature could reach around 35°C, MSS added.
