Well-wishes for Mr Lee Kuan Yew pour in at a Lunar New Year celebration

SINGAPORE — Well-wishes poured in for former Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew at a Lunar New Year dinner this evening for his and Radin Mas constituents (Feb 26).

SINGAPORE — Well-wishes poured in for former Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew at a Lunar New Year dinner this evening for his and Radin Mas constituents (Feb 26).

Grassroots volunteers and residents from all walks of life streamed into the dinner and penned messages of encouragement and prayers on a 6m-long banner with the words “Get Well Soon, Mr Lee Kuan Yew”.

The joint Tanjong Pagar GRC and Radin Mas SMC Lunar New Year Celebration Dinner was organised by the Radin Mas Citizens’ Consultative Committee, and is being held at Shelton College International.

Grassroots personnel told TODAY that the banner will be displayed on stage at the dinner later, which is being attended by an estimated 1,500 residents.

Mr Lee is currently in the intensive care unit of Singapore General Hospital, after coming down with pneumonia. He remains sedated and on mechanical ventilation and his doctors have restarted him on antibiotics.
