Two punters share S$13.6 million Toto Hongbao prize money; winning tickets bought in Yishun

SINGAPORE — There were two winners of the S$13.6 million Toto Hongbao Draw on Friday (Feb 22), with both winning tickets bought in Yishun.
The lucky punters, who won S$6.8 million each, bought their QuickPick ordinary entry tickets from a Singapore Pools outlet at Cold Storage in Northpoint Shopping Centre along Yishun Avenue 2, and another outlet at Sheng Siong in Junction 9 along Yishun Avenue 9.
The winning numbers for the much-awaited annual draw, with one of the largest prize money offered at S$13.6 million, were 5, 8, 14, 16, 34 and 39, with the additional number 23.
There were 22 winning tickets for the Group 2 prize of S$104,278 each and 872 winning tickets for the Group 3 prize of S$1,809 each.
The lottery draw was conducted at the Singapore Pools’ building along Middle Road at 9.30pm.
Earlier in the day, scores of people were spotted at Singapore Pools outlets across the country to buy their bets for this year’s jackpot.
When TODAY visited one outlet at Yishun Avenue 5 — where previous winning tickets were bought — about 60 people were seen in the queue at around 1.30pm.
The Hongbao Draw was launched in the year 2000 to coincide with the Chinese New Year celebrations. It had its largest prize pot of S$13.9 million in 2016.
