National track and field athletes such as Soh Rui Yong, Dipna Lim-Prasad and Shanti Pereira can now seek TCM (traditional healthcare medicine) treatment from local firm Kin Teck Tong (KTT), after Singapore Athletics (SA) signed a one-year S$280,000 deal with the firm yesterday.
The deal, which will start on Friday, will see 10 selected national athletes and participants at SA events seek treatment from KTT’s team of two qualified in-house physicians and six therapists at the Kallang Wave Mall outlet.
“This partnership will give our athletes a holistic combination of the modern, Western medical treatment as well as TCM,” said SA president Tang Weng Fei.
“There is no secret to success. It is just about good training and recovery, and sometimes, without proper treatment and attention on muscle aches for example, injuries can then happen. KTT can help our athletes in that aspect.” ADELENE WONG
