Singapore's keglers bag team silver at Asian Championships

BANGKOK — Singapore has won a silver medal in the women’s team event at the 23rd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships in Bangkok today (Jan 24).

BANGKOK — Singapore has won a silver medal in the women’s team event at the 23rd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships in Bangkok today (Jan 24).

The team of Daphne Tan, Bernice Lim, Jasmine Yeong-Nathan, Geraldine Ng, Joey Yeo and New Hui Fen bowled a 6,259 pinfall total to finish behind champions South Korea (6,439).

It is the second medal won by Singapore at the meet, after Ng, Yeo and New clinched the gold in the women’s trios earlier this week.

Malaysia settled for the bronze medal with 6,175 pinfalls.

The Asian Championships is a key meet in Singapore’s preparations for this year’s South-east Asian Games which the Republic will host from June 5 to 16.
