PM Lee commends S’pore athletes for SEA Games performance
SINGAPORE — Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has commended Singapore athletes for their performance at the SEA Games.

SINGAPORE — Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has commended Singapore athletes for their performance at the SEA Games.
Posting on his Facebook page today (Dec 16), he said: “I have been following our athletes’ progress, and am so happy to see young Singaporeans overcoming the odds with sheer grit and hard work.”
He noted the winning performances of cyclist Dinah Chan and swimmer Samantha Yeo, both of whom had recovered from earlier injuries.
He also mentioned trainee doctor Mok Ying Ren who won the first-ever men’s marathon gold for Singapore, and Muhammad Nur Alfian who clinched a gold for silat in his debut at the Games.
“And not to forget James Wong, our national thrower, who missed a medal this time, but won an exceptional ten golds (nine for the discus and one for the hammer throw) in his career.
“Thank you to all our athletes who are giving their best, and setting an example to all sportsmen!” said Mr Lee. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
