Singapore canoeists strike SEA Games gold
NAYPYIDAW — Singapore struck gold in canoeing at the 27th SEA Games in Myanmar today (Dec 12) with Suzanne Seah and Stephanie Chen winning the women’s K2 500m by a clear margin.
NAYPYIDAW — Singapore struck gold in canoeing at the 27th SEA Games in Myanmar today (Dec 12) with Suzanne Seah and Stephanie Chen winning the women’s K2 500m by a clear margin.
The duo had finished second in the same event at the 2011 SEA Games in Indonesia.
So far, this means that Singapore have now won a gold, a silver and a bronze in canoeing in Naypyidaw.
Geraldine Lee failed to defend the gold medal she won at the last SEA Games in Indonesia when she came in second in the women’s K1 500m, while Brandon Ooi came in third behind Thailand's Kasemsit Borriboonwasin and Vietnam's Nguyen Thanh Quang in the men’s K1 500m.
