SOF–Peter Lim Scholarship awards over S$1 million to 373 athletes

SINGAPORE – The 2015 Singapore Olympic Foundation (SOF)-Peter Lim Scholarship Awards Ceremony was held at the ITE College Central auditorium today (May 4), with over S$1 million disbursed to 373 athletes.

SINGAPORE – The 2015 Singapore Olympic Foundation (SOF)-Peter Lim Scholarship Awards Ceremony was held at the ITE College Central auditorium today (May 4), with over S$1 million disbursed to 373 athletes.

Of the group of 373 athletes who received their scholarship today, 60 will be taking part in the 28th South-east Asian Games from June 5 to 16.

The SOF-Peter Lim Scholarship received some 1,170 applications this year, with the 373 successful applicants winning awards in the four categories – primary (S$1000), secondary (S$2000), junior college/ integrated programme/tertiary (S$3000) and high performance under-18 (S$5000).

The scholarship was started in 2010 by the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) and philanthropist Peter Lim, who donated S$10 million to help budding young athletes pursue their passion and talents in sports.
