Ahead of the start of the 2016/2017 English Premier League (EPL) season tomorrow, Starhub and M1 have partnered with Eleven Sports Network (ESN) to provide sports fans in Singapore with live coverage of selected EPL matches, as well as other sporting content.

The telcos yesterday announced a deal with ESN that would allow them to stream three live and three delayed EPL games every match week.

Apart from EPL matches, however, M1 and Starhub customers who sign up for the telcos’ respective sports packages will also be granted access to some of ESN’s other football offerings, including coverage of the FA Cup, English League Cup, Italian Serie A, 2018 World Cup Russia qualifiers and selected Singapore matches.

In addition, the channels will also show live action from other sporting events such as the ATP250 tennis events, ITTF World Tour and the Badminton Asia Championships.

“M1 continues to champion fibre with the M1 Fibre Sports Bundle, offering the best value for fibre and sports content,” said M1 chief marketing officer P Subramaniam. “With the M1 Fibre Sports Bundle, everyone everywhere can afford to enjoy the passion and excitement of the Eleven Sports Network Pass, which offers top-tier football and other sports content.”

Lin Shu Fen, Starhub’s Head of Family Segment & HubLife, added: “The Premier League is the most popular football league in the world and we are excited to offer three top-tier matches ‘live’ to our StarHub Go customers.

“With the Prime Football Pass, customers can savour top-drawer football at their convenience without having to commit to a contract. On top of that, StarHub Mobile customers will not incur any data charges while streaming content on StarHub Go, allowing these diehard football fans to focus the things that truly matter: The football.” NOAH TAN
