It is wrong for the Indonesian Government to name a warship after two marines who killed and injured innocent parties in the 1960s, destroying families in the process.

The world is now more dangerous because of acts of terrorism, and the two marines can be considered terrorists. Does Indonesia not have more deserving heroes?

Naming a warship after them only brings back bad memories as well as anger, sadness and disappointment in Singapore, which has helped Indonesia and its citizens following the 2004 tsunami and other events too.

It is also an insult to the victims of the MacDonald House attack, and their families.
