We are actively exploring the introduction of more digital payment options at our ticket offices and will also be providing more concession-related services via the TransitLink SimplyGo mobile application progressively.
All ticketing machines at MRT and bus interchanges, such as the Add Value Machine, Top-Up Machine and General Ticketing Machine, have been reconfigured to accept digital payment modes such as Nets and credit or debit card payment for top-ups or the purchase of other concession-related products.
Commuters who are comfortable with such digital payments modes are encouraged to use these self-help ticketing devices.
Those who require further assistance may visit our ticket office.
With regard to the writer’s query on the seven-day advance purchase policy for concession passes, this caters to most concession cardholders who buy their concession passes on the same day or one day before the expiry of their current passes even with the seven-day advance purchase period.
Therefore, the current advance purchase period provides sufficient time for concession cardholders to buy new concession passes.
We also plan to include an alert for concession pass expiry within the TransitLink SimplyGo app.
We will continue to monitor concession pass purchasing patterns, and will review our processes as and when necessary.
