2 more teens die in Romanian club fire; death toll climbs to 50

BUCHAREST — Two Romanian teenagers injured in a deadly nightclub blaze in Bucharest have died in British hospitals, bringing the death toll to 50.

BUCHAREST — Two Romanian teenagers injured in a deadly nightclub blaze in Bucharest have died in British hospitals, bringing the death toll to 50.

Friend Elena Beatrice Gagos confirmed the death of Vladut Roberto Andy today (Nov 11) — his 19th birthday. Media reported he died in a hospital in Chelmsford.

The AD Xenopol high school in Bucharest said today on its Facebook page that student Elena Nitu, 18, had died in a hospital in Liverpool late yesterday.

Both teens had been transported by a NATO plane to Britain for treatment for burns sustained in the Oct 30 fire.

Authorities say that 51 people remain hospitalised in a serious or critical condition — 27 in foreign hospitals. Some 36 were flown abroad for treatment in the past week. AP
