Belgian prosecutors open criminal probe into Brussels bombings

BRUSSELS – Belgian authorities opened a criminal inquiry into Tuesday’s (March 22) bomb blasts at the airport and a metro station in Brussels.

BRUSSELS – Belgian authorities opened a criminal inquiry into Tuesday’s (March 22) bomb blasts at the airport and a metro station in Brussels.

“The three explosions this morning, two at Brussels airport and one in the subway station Maelbeek, are terrorist attacks,” the federal prosecutor’s office said in an e-mailed statement on Tuesday. “The anti-terrorism section of the federal prosecutor’s office has opened a criminal investigation.” BLOOMBERG
