Ms Sirpa Franzen, spokeswoman for Sweden’s Security Service, says the man was apprehended yesterday (Nov 19) in Sweden but she did not give any details.
Ms Franzen said the man had been ordered arrested in absentia on Nov 17 on “suspicion of preparing to commit terrorist offences”, but he was not caught until yesterday.
She did not identify him or provide any other details pending a full investigation.
On Wednesday, Sweden raised the country’s terror alert to the second-highest level. AP
