LONDON — British Prime Minister Theresa May will ask Queen Elizabeth for permission to form a government at 1130 GMT on Friday (June 9), a spokesman from her office said, after she failed to win an outright majority at a national election.

Sky News reported that Northern Ireland's Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) has struck a deal to support the Conservatives in parliament.

The DUP's 10 seats will help them hit the 326 seats needed for a majority. The "confidence and supply" arrangement will involve the DUP supporting a Conservative minority government on key votes in parliament but not forming a formal coalition partnership, Sky said.

Downing Street says she plans to meet the queen at 12.30pm local time (1130 GMT). AGENCIES
