MIAMI (Florida) — A fan is suing pop star Madonna for pushing back the start time of her Madame X tour concert in Florida by two hours.
Celebrity tabloid TMZ, citing legal documents it has obtained, said that Madonna and entertainment company Live Nation are being sued by a ticket holder in Florida.
The man, Nate Hollander, claimed he lost money after the start time for Madonna's upcoming Dec 17 concert in Miami Beach was moved from 8.30pm to 10.30pm.
Mr Hollander allegedly paid US$1,024.95 (S$1,390) for three tickets to the Tuesday night concert.
He claimed that the tickets have dropped in value after the concert's start time was pushed back by two hours. He also claimed that he was denied a refund for the tickets.
The unhappy fan is gathering other dissatisfied concert-goers to go after Madonna for damages with a class action lawsuit, TMZ added.
The lawsuit alleges that Madonna has had issues with punctuality during her current ongoing tour, routinely making concertgoers wait two hours longer than initially scheduled.
Celebrity news site Wonderwall reported that "over 500 refunds" were issued after Madonna was nearly two hours late for her concert in Las Vegas last Thursday (Nov 7).
The concert was originally supposed to start at 10.30pm, but Madonna appeared onstage only after midnight and performed until around 2.45am.
Madonna is notorious for her tardiness, often starting her concerts much later than scheduled.
In March 2016, at a show in Melbourne, Australia, she was scheduled to appear at 8.30pm but took the stage more than four hours later, at 12.50am, CBS reported.
For her maiden gig in Singapore in 2016, she started 55 minutes late, according to the Straits Times. The concert was slated to start at 8pm.
