KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysia reported 110 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, with the total number of cases increasing to 900.

The country’s health minister Adham Baba said 63 of the new cases were linked to the Sri Petaling mosque religious assembly.

It was attended by some 16,000 people.

Dr Adham said that twenty of the cases are being treated in the intensive care unit and need breathing assistance.

He added that another 15 patients have been discharged from hospital, bringing the total number of recovered cases in the country to 75.

As of Thursday, 576 people who attended the religious event have tested positive for Covid-19. AGENCIES
